WHBallroom is an independent informational website covering the White House Ballroom project. It is not operated by or affiliated with the White House, the U.S. government, or PayPal.
Information You Voluntarily Provide
The site does not offer public accounts, a newsletter, merchandise sales, or a contact form. If you email WHBallroom directly, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message.
If you make a donation through PayPal, PayPal may provide WHBallroom with transaction information such as your name, email address, mailing address, donation amount, and transaction status. WHBallroom may use this information to acknowledge your support, provide an applicable supporter certificate, respond to questions, and maintain appropriate transaction records.
PayPal Donations
Donation buttons on this site use PayPal-hosted donation flows. Payment details are entered and processed by PayPal, not directly by WHBallroom. WHBallroom does not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account credentials. PayPal handles your information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Server Logs and Technical Data
Like most websites, WHBallroom’s hosting provider may create routine server logs. These logs can include an IP address, request date and time, requested page, browser or device information, referring page, and technical error data. This information is used for site delivery, reliability, troubleshooting, and security.
Cookies and Analytics
WHBallroom uses Google Analytics to understand site traffic and how visitors use the website. Google Analytics may collect technical and usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source, and interaction information. It may use first-party cookies and similar technologies for measurement.
WHBallroom uses Analytics for ordinary site measurement and improvement, including interactions such as donation-button engagement, visits to donation return pages, and certificate downloads. A visit to a return page helps measure the donation journey but is not treated as verification of payment. Analytics is not used to imply any affiliation with the White House or U.S. government. WHBallroom does not use GA4 to intentionally send personally identifying information to Google Analytics. Google processes Analytics information according to its own terms and privacy practices.
PayPal donation components may also use cookies or similar technologies when they are loaded or used. Those technologies are controlled by PayPal and are subject to PayPal’s privacy practices.
Third-Party Links
The site may link to PayPal, historical resources, source materials, or social platforms. Visiting a third-party website subjects you to that provider’s privacy practices. WHBallroom is not responsible for how third-party sites collect or use information.
Data Retention
WHBallroom retains information received directly only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received, to maintain necessary records, resolve questions, protect the site, or meet applicable obligations. Hosting providers and PayPal maintain their own retention practices.
